This is to express my sincere gratitude for your coming back on line. I am a police officer serving now and cannot stomach the current state of the affairs in the nation and the police force. The current Zambian government has been slowly taking our citizens for granted by literally blacking out all independent news with opposing angles. However, this is the much needed news for the common Zambian to be abreast with the reality of life in Zambia today.
Clearly, only a scared government can go to such lengths in trying to hide the truth from the world and from within its borders on how it is mismanaging the country’s affairs. Zambia is literally under siege by the current PF regime under the leadership of self-declared visionless Lungu and his minions. We the police have literally been pinned to mark and ensure that the opposition parties with possibilities of overrunning the current government are silenced.
President Lungu comes out as a humble man, but behind that man’s face is a serious killer who has no boundaries on human life and value. Running towards the past August 2016 elections, the president issued scary instructions to the police to use all means to silence the opposition. This was embedded in the public order act. Instructions literally bordered on killing if that was the only way to stop the opposition. The case in point was the registration of foreign voters where mayhem reigned supreme. The post newspaper journalist who first exposed the scum was abused to the core. Cadres were unleashed on him even to the extent of urinating into his mouth. How low can a government sink? This was absurd and I have never forgiven the police force I serve in for allowing such inhumane acts. President Lungu literally ordered that if it had to take a life to keep the foreigner registration scum away from the masses, it had to be that way.
We in the police force are still being threatened daily, and I must say, it is no longer interesting or a pleasurable job to serve in the force. It is like citizens are the enemies of the state who must be constantly silenced at whatever cost. I joined the Police Force during Chiluba’s regime. I served under Mwanawasa, Rupiah Banda and Sata. There has never been such a tense and heavy handedness in the police force on citizens as seen today. The current PF government is destroying our values as a police service. This is a quite a tragedy and a shameful state of affairs.
