Now prosecutors say HH wanted to declare himself president in Mongu

Government prosecutors  have put a new treason charge claiming that Hakainde Hichilema’s wanted to declare himself president in Mongu during the Kuomboka ceremony.

This was after the magistrate threw out the earlier charges saying they are bad at law.

‘Hakainde Hichilema and Wallace Chakwa, On the 5th day of April, 2017 at Lusaka in the district of Lusaka province, of the republic of Zambia, jointly and while acting together, did conspire to mobilise an advance party to ensure that Hakainde Hichilema was accorded the status of the president of the Republic of Zambia at the Kuomboka ceremony in Mongu,’ read the new charge.

The second overt act is that HH obstructed the presidential motorcade.

But the Mongu incidence was last week relegated to a mere traffic offence of obstruction but now it has come back and elevated as constituting an overt acts meant to overthrow the government. If this is not a fishing expedition on the part of the prosecutors, then it is incompetence at its worst just like their employers PF.
