Rupiah Banda has Skeletons in his closet.

We understand Rupiah Banda’s belligerence when it comes to matters of rule of law and justice. This is because the former President has a lot of skeletons in his closet. He is also perceived by many as the defacto President of Zambia and a prime mover to a lot of strange actions that are taking place in the PF.

Mr Rupiah Banda has everything to gain by ensuring Hakainde Hichilema is kept behind bars, because he knows that he does not need a sincere and accountable leader to run the affairs of the State. This is what HH would be to the people of Zambia, sincere, accountable and transparent.

The culture of accountability leaves a bitter taste in the mouth of Rupiah Bwezani Banda, because he has chronic allergies in ensuring public resources are kept in check and in accordance with the law.

We know how RB managed to conduct a day light robbery in the LapGreen deal by signing it off for a song.

We know his dealing over the Mpundu Trust fund which late President Sata called him to account for, but which his Wako ni Wako kinsman Edgar Chagwa Lungu assisted him by ensuring the case was thrown out of court.

Rupiah Bwezani Banda has a lot of filth buried under the Nigeria Access Bank which was facilitating all kind of questionable activities for him.

As a matter of fact Rupiah Banda has a troubled history since the First Republic when he was the CEO for the Grain Marketing Board. You will note that during his brief watch as Republican President, Rupiah Banda detested Kenneth Kaunda and kept him at a distance. This is because KK fired him as a result of corrupt activities at the Grain Marketing Board and RB has never forgiven him for that.

The demeanour Rupiah Banda exhibited yesterday when he condemned the three Church Mother Bodies for exposing Lungu as a tin pot dictator is the same one Lungu showed at the Airport when he angrily denied that there was a crisis despite his earlier admission during the burial of the late Mama Salome Kapwepwe, that the Nation is deeply divided.

Edgar Lungu and Rupiah Banda are birds of the same feathers and the latter will do anything to ensure he prolongs the rule of the former. It serves his interest but time will catch up with both of them one day.

It s unfortunate that the people who call others tribalist, are hypocrites. They themselves are real tribalist.

Unlike Chiefs from other regions, the Eastern Chiefs have responded to this nonsense in very clear terms. One would have hoped other Chiefs would have also reprimanded their subjects when they spewed nonsense and all the mess we are in now would have been avoided. But do not add your stuff ba Watchdog – did Senior Chief Nzamane refer to the President in his reprimand of Edwin Sakala?
