Talks Talks Talks – HH & LUNGU

Editor’s choice

The vigorous and determined attempt by the PF to hold the UPND hostage to what’s becoming theoretical and comical stage managed peace talks, has laid bare the ruling party’s evil agenda. The Imperial Japanese army successfully used the same method in the 2nd World war against the American South Pacific Naval Base of Pearl Harbour.

When the Japanese Air force launched one of the deadliest attacks of the 2nd World War at Pearl Harbour, their officials were simultaneously holding peace talks with the Americans.

PF strategy must be seen in this light and unless the UPND decipher the real intentions early enough, the Party may be in for an annihilation. The smoke signal is billowing up in the sky. Even before the peace accord ink runs dry, the following day, PF uses President Lungu’s executive privileges, sends helicopters and dozens of police and party cadres to occupy an ECZ authorized UPND rally site. If that is not naked aggression against the so called peace accord, what is it? Where is the good-will, where is the decency?

The most recent Mangango by-elections where District Commissioners were literally campaigning and camping in Mangango despite being CIVIL Servants and crossing provincial boundaries is a clear sign of a lawless government. Proven from 2015 through 2016 elections and now by-elections, the PF have blood stained hands and evil tongues in their dealings of the UPND. Their cadres have maimed dozens of UPND supporters with some even losing lives.

The brazen faced PF Media Director Sunday Chanda and his assistant Antonio Mwanza have persistently and blatantly attacked the character of the UPND President Hakainde Hichilema by using impudent lies and cheeky and undisguised propaganda, even in the midst of the peace talks.

How genuine, sincere, dignified and useful are such talks when the delegates participate in a free for all competition to cast aspersions to the Head of the same organization they seek peace with? Something is not right here.

It’s either the PF is attempting to project an image of sainthood to hoodwink the International community in order to receive some form of support or they want to detach and alienate HH from his colleagues and the Party.

President Edgar Lungu has not been nonchalant but very blunt about how he disdainfully wants HH out as UPND President. He confessed about how it severely afflicts and stings him that HH is a President of the UPND. How sinister and ironical that his party now opts for a peace deal with someone you want ‘dead’? Now that’s remarkable indeed.

HH must be supported for his views of the PF;  “We support peace, we support stability, we support no violence, but we don’t want to be duped into an agreement when PF are planning another…..If PF was serious, all that is needed is Mr Lungu to pronounce that there shall be no violence and there will be no violence. Late Mwanawasa did it….Home Affairs Minister Kampyongo does not need so many meetings between this secretariat and the PF secretariat….All he needs to say is ‘Inspector General, there will be no violence, anyone who commits crime in the name of the party, arrest them’, and there will be no meeting and there will be no accords to sign, it will be over….”

It s unfortunate that the people who call others tribalist, are hypocrites. They themselves are real tribalist.

Unlike Chiefs from other regions, the Eastern Chiefs have responded to this nonsense in very clear terms. One would have hoped other Chiefs would have also reprimanded their subjects when they spewed nonsense and all the mess we are in now would have been avoided. But do not add your stuff ba Watchdog – did Senior Chief Nzamane refer to the President in his reprimand of Edwin Sakala?
