Edgar Lungu is a liar: PF has no plan to combat COVID-19

Sikaile Sikaile
Let Zambians pray for Edgar Lungu so that he comes back to his senses and tell the nation the truth that he is incompetent and irresponsible.
The Patriotic Front (PF) government should swallow its pride and admit that they are stuck on where to start from in the fight against COVID-19 where unreported cases of Corona virus could be multiplying every hour.
Facts on the ground are that, there is no money for the PF government to fight the deadly disease and this has led to Lungu to go into self hibernation amidst a global crisis that has hit the country.
All public coffers are dry and PF government which depends on borrowing has resorted to keep our borders open in an attempt to raise money without realizing that the money they are soliciting by allowing people into Zambia will not be enough to fight the virus in the long run.
We have been observing of late how the PF government has accused the opposition leader Mr Hakainde Hichilema of not giving alternative solutions to national problems.  It is however shocking to learn that almost two months now since the opposition leader started pleading to Mr Lungu to put their political differences aside and save citizens lives, Mr Lungu has ignored such efforts.
We have also observed the positive move made by the opposition leader HH to address the nation and give hope to citizens, yet President Lungu has quarantined himself in State House and Facebook.
Edgar Lungu is stuck on where to borrow money as every one is busy fighting the pandemic.
All world leaders, have stepped up to face their citizens in the fight against COVID-19 with or without resources but in Zambia, the President is hiding because he has no vision.
These two incidents, gassing and COVID-19 has proven that Zambia currently doesn’t have a President but an impostor.
Since 2015, the PF government has wasted a lot of money to fight political opponents. Lack of priorities  has seen Zambia’s economy shrinking. Billions of dollars have been spent by the PF government to fight an innocent citizen in Hichilema.
The money PF spent on purchasing the presidential jet, $42 million for worn-out fire trucks, arming PF cadres with guns, procuring of unnecessary military vehicles, buying opposition MPs to support Bill 10, gassing citizens, running induced by-elections, illegal trading of Mukula tree, 2017 HH treason case and bribing of some judges to aid PF in manipulating the constitution. All these saw billions of dollars being misused yet Zambians are suffering.
We have lost billions of dollars in the above situations that today we could have used to handle the crisis in our nation.
Zambia is a very blessed nation whose only challenge is lack of leadership to do the right thing for citizens.
It is a sad development to learn that the cabinet meeting held on Monday, March 23, 2020 did not have serious issues on how we shall overcome this world crisis.
Personally, I  did not expect any issue from the said meeting Lungu called for apart from
serious austerity measures to fight COVID-19. But it was all about bills to be amended.
It is also shocking that Bill 10 postmortem was given a priority during the meeting. Sources within State House have disclosed that COVID-19 was not paid particular attention too but Dora Siliya had to put it on top of her statement so that Zambians are made to think something is being done when in fact not.
If PF government was concerned in providing leadership and saving lives, they could have by now already started sending health personnel in rural areas and other cities, because God had given Zambia a great chance to prepare adequately for the virus despite our porous borders which are still open. Zambia has a great chance of curbing the virus if leadership become serious.
What Zambians should know is that the statement issued by Dora Siliya clearly shows that PF government has no idea on how to handle the pandemic and all I can remind the PF government is that bring back all the money you have stolen from poor citizens so that we fight COVID-19.

It s unfortunate that the people who call others tribalist, are hypocrites. They themselves are real tribalist.

Unlike Chiefs from other regions, the Eastern Chiefs have responded to this nonsense in very clear terms. One would have hoped other Chiefs would have also reprimanded their subjects when they spewed nonsense and all the mess we are in now would have been avoided. But do not add your stuff ba Watchdog – did Senior Chief Nzamane refer to the President in his reprimand of Edwin Sakala?
