Yaluma The Tribalist Thief

The untold story of Christopher Yaluma and ZDA happenings.

Christopher Yaluma is not only a thief who has looted a large amount of government resources but is also a sworn tribalist. Yaluma is tribal to the bone marrow that he even forgets that his wife is Tonga from Monze and his children are half Tongas.

Needless to re echo, Yaluma has amassed so much wealth that he has mostly stored away in South Africa. Yaluma has secured for himself several up end properties in RSA. Since becoming minister in several lucrative ministries like Energy and Mines, Yaluma has been looting from the ministries he has been minister through massive corruption.

ZDA has had 4 Director Generals in the last 2 years since Yaluma moved there. And Yaluma has terminated 2 contracts of Board Chairpersons in this same short 2 years and all for the same reason, to appoint his relatives and he has finally appointed fellow tribalist Mukula Makasa.

Mukula Makasa is 56 years, incompetent, unmarried man who still lives in his parents home. His trade mark is to speak Bemba even in official meetings. He was trained in Bulgaria by UNIP government because of his father who was close to the UNIP regime.

Mukula studied for a diploma in Agriculture Engineering and that’s the only qualification he has from Bulgaria.

Due to failure to get employment, he joined in the campaign team with Yaluma in 2011. Yaluma, using Winter Kabimba then, managed to secure a job of Director SMEs for him at ZDA, at the expense of Windu Matoka, now Dr Matoka. Mukula had no experience or qualifications to do that job, hence his failure to deliver in that job.

To consolidate himself, and typical of his DNA, he uses tribe and tells lies about his friends to politicians. He told so many lies about Andrew Chipwende and even Patrick Chisanga when he worked under them. Its his way of covering his incompetences.

When Yaluma moved to Ministry of Commerce, the first victim was Perry Mapani, whose contract was terminated after being Director General for less than 1 year and the reason for his dismissal was simple, he was Ila by tribe and was accused of working with UPND. The then Board Chairperson, Mary Ncube decided to appoint Matongo Matamwandi, who was Director Investments to Act as Director General.

In the one and half years, Matongo acted, he repositioned ZDA because of his strong marketing background but this did not please Yaluma, who then terminated Mary Ncube’s contract because he wanted the incompetent Makasa to be Director General.

Then Fisho Mwale was appointed with instructions to appoint Mukula Makasa. Fisho and his Board attempted to confirm Matongo but Yaluma refused on the basis that he could not trust a Lozi man in that position, especially that next year is an election year. As per his habit, Mukula had been constantly visiting Yaluma to report on Matongo and his usual tribal stories like he did on Perry Mapani.

So Fisho decided to open up the job to the public by advertising the job. Matongo is known in the corporate circles for his ethical and professional conduct, so he opted to resign in order to avoid being pulled into this Yaluma/Fisho battle. As expected, Mukula Makasa applied for the job but since he did not meet the minimum qualifications coupled with his poor performance as Director SMEs, he was not shortlisted for interviews.

This is what annoyed the Tribal Yaluma and he decided to fire both Fisho Mwale the Board Chair and his Vice chair Enock Bwalya. You will be interested to know that the Board of ZDA has 16 members and 2 are Easterners, 1 Lozi and 13 Bembas. That’s Yaluma for you. One Zambia One nation indeed.

It s unfortunate that the people who call others tribalist, are hypocrites. They themselves are real tribalist.

Unlike Chiefs from other regions, the Eastern Chiefs have responded to this nonsense in very clear terms. One would have hoped other Chiefs would have also reprimanded their subjects when they spewed nonsense and all the mess we are in now would have been avoided. But do not add your stuff ba Watchdog – did Senior Chief Nzamane refer to the President in his reprimand of Edwin Sakala?
